Ornithogalum

Also known as the Star of Bethlehem, based on its star-shaped flowers, the scientific name Ornithogalum is derived from an old Greek plant name "ornithos" meaning 'bird', and "gala" meaning milk. Ornis is member of the Lily family, and is also a close relative of the onion, tulip and hyacinth.
